RGMIA Seminars

The Research Group is comprised of academics and researchers from Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. The aims of the group are to:

  • disseminate results via publication (both in print and electronic form) and conferences,
  • create an awareness of the theory of inequalities and support seminars and visiting academics,
  • illustrate the applicability of inequalities in the sciences. For e.g. numerical analysis (including quadrature and integral equations), statistics, probability and information theory.

The RGMIA was founded in September 1998 and is based at Victoria University. It is chaired by Professor S.S. Dragomir and now boasts over 1000 members worldwide. Within months of its birth, the RGMIA began its own electronic preprint 'Research Report Collection'. All authors who submit a paper to  the Collection receive the printed version that includes their contribution. As a result, inequalities research is made available to members in a timely fashion. The printed version of this is now exchanged with over sixty international journals.

The group has as its motto: "The value of the group is greater than the sum of the values of its members."

The value of the group is greater than the sum of the values of its members

In addition to the Research Report Collection, the group hosts its own fully-refereed electronic journal, the 'Journal of Inequalities in Pure and Applied Mathematics' (JIPAM), with an editorial board of over 70 international editors. JIPAM was officially launched in April 2000.
